THROUGH SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18 | AROUND CHESAPEAKE
Last weekend of Chesapeake Restaurant Week
Visit Chesapeake says Restaurant Week runs through Sunday, October 18. Participating restaurants offer fixed-price meals starting at $15, in $5 increments; tax and gratuity are extra. The available menu and hours depend on the restaurant, so the headline price is not a promise that every meal costs $15.
What to do: Pick a participating restaurant and check its menu and hours before heading out.

FOLLOWING THE STORY | APPLICATIONS THROUGH OCTOBER 30
School-program applications are open
Chesapeake Public Schools says its application window for selected 2027-2028 specialized programs is open October 9-30. The programs have different grade and eligibility rules, including options for current fifth-graders, eighth-graders and older high-school students. This is the continuing item from Monday's issue; the October 13 information session has passed.
What to do: Use the district's program page to confirm eligibility and submit the right application before October 30. An application does not guarantee a place.
